STEP-2 | 2024-2030 Self-Testing for Cervical Cancer in Priority Populations: the STEP-2 Trial project, has been submitted to the National Cancer Institute. Partnering with the University of Washington, this project will test a multilevel intervention to increase cervical cancer screening, by implementing self-sampling in clinics and through a mailed outreach program. This project seeks to improve cervical cancer screening rates among women in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), working with stakeholders to develop effective messaging and reminders. PEER is working with School Based Health Centers, Schools, and Federally Qualified Health Center’s to improve health outcomes for Oregon youth. Too few people are vaccinated for the human papillomavirus (HPV), which can prevent tens of thousands of deaths from cancer each year. Our program will evaluate a multilevel intervention to increase HPV vaccination and the use of School Based Health Centers for primary and preventive care.
