Louis Demott Bunce

(1907-1983)

Education:

Museum Art School, Portland (1925-26);
Art Students League, New York;

Biography:

Louis Bunce worked for the WPA Easel Project in New York and the WPA Art Center in Salem as an instructor and assistant director. Two of his murals are in the post offices in Grants Pass and St. Johns. Bunce taught at the Museum Art School in Portland until his retirement. He introduced the serigraph technique to Oregon and worked in many styles - cubism, expressionism, surrealism, and abstractionism.
