Cognitive behavioral therapy (or CBT) delivered in a primary care setting is a cost-effective way to treat adolescents with depression who decline or quickly stop using antidepressants, according to a Kaiser Permanente study published today in the journal Pediatrics.

Lucy Savitz, PhD, MBA, a health services researcher with decades of experience translating scientific findings into clinical practice, will join the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research as its new director in May. Savitz will replace Mary Durham, PhD, who retired in November.
